Privacy Policy — Joinii

This policy describes what data the Joinii app processes and how. Joinii displays and merges workouts and related health metrics from Apple Health into a single overview. All processing takes place locally on the user's device.

Data processed

With the user's permission, Joinii reads the following from Apple Health in order to display and merge it:

• Workouts and their GPS routes
• Per-sport distances (walking and running, cycling, swimming, downhill snow sports, cross-country skiing, skating, rowing, paddle sports, wheelchair)
• Active energy burned
• Heart rate
• Blood glucose (from a CGM sensor, if used)
• Step count, swimming strokes, and wheelchair pushes
• Speed (running, walking, cycling, rowing, paddle sports, cross-country skiing)
• Power and cadence (running, cycling)
• Physical effort and workout effort score
• VO₂ max
• Menstrual flow (only if the user explicitly enables cycle tracking)
• The unit preference set in Apple Health (kilometres or miles, mmol/L or mg/dL)

The app reads no other types of health data. It does not request access to data it does not need to function.

Cycle tracking is off by default. Once enabled, the app derives the day and phase of the cycle from menstrual flow records; it reads no other cycle-related data.

Health data is a special category of personal data under Article 9 of the GDPR. The app processes it solely on the basis of the user’s explicit consent, granted by allowing access to the individual data types in Apple Health, which can be withdrawn at any time.

Routes are drawn on the map from GPS data stored with workouts in Apple Health. The app does not access the device's current location.

Photos and notes

Photos and notes attached by the user to a workout are stored solely locally within the app's data. They do not leave the device.

How data is processed

• All data is processed locally on the user's device.
• The app does not send any data to the operator's servers, the cloud, or third parties.
• The app does not write any data to Apple Health; it only reads from it.
• The app uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
• Data from Apple Health is not used for advertising or marketing.

Purchases

Unlocking the full version is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. The purchase is validated and restored through the user’s Apple ID. The controller has no access to the user’s payment details.

Data sharing

The operator does not share the user's data with third parties. Sharing an image or workout overview via the system share function occurs solely at the user's initiative and under their control.

User rights

The app's access to individual types of health data can be revoked at any time in the system settings: Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Joinii. Uninstalling the app removes all of its local data.

Minors

The app is not directed at persons under 16.

Changes to this policy

The operator reserves the right to update this policy. The current version is always available on this page.

Controller

The author of the app and the data controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is Ondřej Peľák. Because all processing takes place solely on the user’s device, the controller has no access to any of the user’s data and collects none.
